About Our Founder

ANNE M. CORBIN, J.D., Ph.D.

As a law-trained workplace performance scientist and compliance consultant, she is committed to the trauma-informed promotion of equity and optimal performance in the workplace. Her diverse experiences span higher education, state and federal government, nonprofit organizations, legal education, and law practice settings. These experiences have provided her with a broad perspective and a deep understanding of the complexities and nuances involved in fostering equitable, compliant, and high-performing workplaces.

Author and Researcher
Dr. Corbin is the author of “Dilemma of Duties: The Conflicted Role of Juvenile Defenders,” a book grounded in original empirical research that examines the extent to which juvenile defenders experience and cope with role conflict. This work is available on Amazon.com in both paper and electronic forms, and copies can also be obtained through Southern Illinois University Press. She is always eager to share insights and discuss this work further. Please feel free to contact her via LinkedIn to schedule speaking events, interviews, podcasts, and more.

Professional Goals and Activities
Her professional goals are centered around supporting and exploring the relationship between law and science in both applied and educational settings. These multifaceted goals include, but are not limited to, the following activities:

  • Teaching: Educating the next generation of leaders and professionals.
  • Training: Developing and delivering programs for social equity leaders, government agents, and other professionals (e.g., law, medicine, policy).
  • Program Development and Evaluation: Creating and assessing impactful programs that promote talent-based practices and management, equity, and compliance.
  • Policy Development, Review, and Implementation: Shaping policies that ensure ethical and legal standards are applied and supported in the workplace.
  • Research: Conducting research at the intersection of law and science, with a focus on talent-driven decision making, ethics, and compliance.

Personal Journey
Dr. Corbin’s passion for understanding human behavior and the laws that govern it began at an early age. At fourteen, she found herself engrossed in Freud’s Interpretation of Dreams and wondered if her future lay in studying dreams as a scientist. Although no one in her family had been to college, she was determined to pursue higher education. Fascinated by how rules about behavior were made and enforced, this curiosity led her to explore the many intersections of psychology and law. Over time, this exploration evolved into a dedication to the intersection of workplace performance science and law.

Specialties
She specializes in:

  • Training social equity leaders.
  • Professional development for government agents and other professionals (e.g., law, medicine, policy).
  • Exploring the law-science intersection.
  • Performance, ethics, and compliance policy and research.
